A birthday without birthday cake? No way! For our 5th birthday there is a very special cake recipe for you. A few months ago, our founder Caro demonstrated her incredible cooking skills on the show “The Perfect Dinner” with a delicious oat menu. The highlight of the evening was her legendary chocolate cake, which she prepared with our 3Bears Fine Cocoa Porridge. On the occasion of our 5th birthday, we were able to get the recipe out of her and hope you have lots of fun baking it!
Ingredients
For the chocolate cake:
- 200g butter
- 150 g dark chocolate
- 4 eggs
- 120g brown sugar
- 120g 3Bears Porridge Fine Cocoa
- 50g dark chocolate
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch vanilla
- 1 shot of rum
- 3 tbsp 3Bears organic oat drink
For the chocolate sauce:
- 100g dark chocolate
- 2 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
Preparation
To make the dough, first melt butter and 150g of dark chocolate in a water bath and then let it cool slightly. In the meantime, mix the sugar and eggs until frothy. Stir the melted butter and chocolate into the sugar-egg mixture. Now finely grind 3Bears Porridge Fine Cocoa and fold in carefully. Finely chop 50g of dark chocolate and stir in together with salt, vanilla and a dash of rum.
Pour the dough into a greased springform pan and bake at 175 degrees for about 35 minutes. Let the cake cool in the tin and only remove it from the springform pan.
For the chocolate sauce, melt the dark chocolate, coconut oil and almond butter in a water bath and serve with the cake.
