Christmas Apple Cinnamon Bears

Weihnachtliche Apfel-Zimtbärchen
Pssst! Not only is there a bear head cookie cutter hidden in our 3Bears Advent calendar, but also a cute running bear! Since Christmas is approaching, we will of course continue to provide you with great 3Bears Porridge recipes. Our dear guest blogger Bika can literally smell Christmas. Fir branches, tangerines, the smell of candles and freshly baked cookies - but what kind of cookies should it be this year? How about this slightly modified recipe for the classic cinnamon stars we all love so much? Why not try a fruity version with the 3Bears Cinnamon Apple Porridge variety? And while we're at it, let's cut them out as 3Bears bears with the new cookie cutter instead of the classic stars. So, here is the recipe for the apple cinnamon bears from our dear Bika.

Preparation time: 60 minutes | Rest time: 60 minutes | Baking time: 15 minutes

Ingredients for 2 sheets of cookies:

100g 3Bears Crunchy classic
100g 3Bears Cinnamon Apple
125g wheat flour
50g almond flour
150g sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
200g butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cloves

For the icing:
1 egg white
2 tbsp lemon juice
200g powdered sugar

Preparation:

  1. Finely puree 3Bears Porridge Cinnamon Apple.

  2. Lightly toast 50g of the 3Bears Porridge Crunchy Classic oat flakes in a pan and allow to cool.

  3. In the meantime, mix all the other dough ingredients together. Then add the toasted oat flakes and knead everything well.

  4. Place the dough in the refrigerator for about an hour.

  5. Then roll out the dough on a floured surface to about half a centimetre thick and cut out the bears.

  6. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius (top and bottom heat) and bake the cookies for about 15 minutes until they turn slightly golden brown around the edges.

  7. Let the cookies cool and now prepare the icing.

  8. To do this, beat the egg whites with a hand mixer until foamy.

  9. Sift the powdered sugar into the bowl with the foamy egg whites and add the lemon juice. Mix the whole thing with a hand mixer until all lumps are removed.

Now spread the cooled cookies with the icing. This can be done quite precisely with a teaspoon. Then let it harden overnight.
