A birthday without birthday cake? No way! For our 5th birthday there is a very special cake recipe for you. A few months ago, our founder Caro demonstrated her incredible cooking skills on the show “The Perfect Dinner” with a delicious oat menu. The highlight of the evening was her legendary chocolate cake, which she prepared with our 3Bears Fine Cocoa Porridge . On the occasion of our 5th birthday, we were able to get the recipe out of her and wish you lots of fun baking it.

For the chocolate cake:

  • 200g butter
  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 4 eggs
  • 120g brown sugar
  • 120 g 3Bears Porridge Fine Cocoa
  • 50 g dark chocolate
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch vanilla
  • 1 shot of rum
  • 3 tbsp 3Bears organic oat drink

For the chocolate sauce:

  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil


To make the dough, first melt butter and 150 g of dark chocolate in a water bath and then let it cool slightly. In the meantime, mix the sugar and eggs until frothy. Stir the melted butter and chocolate into the sugar-egg mixture. Now finely grind 3Bears Porridge Fine Cocoa and fold in carefully. Finely chop 50 g of dark chocolate and stir in together with salt, vanilla and a dash of rum.

Pour the dough into a greased springform pan and bake at 175 degrees for about 35 minutes. Then let the cake cool in the tin and only then remove it from the springform pan.

For the chocolate sauce, melt the dark chocolate, coconut oil and almond butter in a water bath and serve with the cake.
