Fit and healthy through the winter

Fit und gesund durch den Winter

In order to get through the cold winter days fit and healthy, we need a good basis for our immune system: healthy nutrition and lots of vitamins. Our different types of porridge make it really fun to eat healthy. Our porridge is not only the most delicious feel-good food, but also a great source of nutrients. Our whole grain oat flakes are absolute heroes because they are full of fiber, minerals, vitamins and proteins. A perfect starting point to get you through the winter fit.

Immune booster porridge

Combined with fresh fruits, vegetables and spices, oatmeal is an excellent immune booster.

5 a day – old but gold!

The German Nutrition Society recommends eating 5 portions of fruit or vegetables every day. The more colorful, the better. One serving is equal to a handful. This recommendation is certainly not a world first. But it's a good guide to make sure you're getting enough vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals every day. Our porridge is the perfect basis for this, because our different types of porridge can be refined with a colorful selection of fruit and vegetables. Vegetables? YES, you read that right! You can create more than just sweet breakfast bowls with our porridge. Our hearty classic is a great base for a healthy, hearty meal. How about a hearty pumpkin porridge, for example? The nutty taste of pumpkin goes perfectly with our creamy oat flakes with a bite. Thanks to the beta-carotene found in pumpkin, you can also treat your body to a portion of vitamin A.

Spices for the immune system

We love spices in porridge. Our cinnamon apple impresses with a generous pinch of cinnamon and our limited winter variety is packed with Christmas spices: cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and star anise. The spices complement our porridge creations perfectly. In addition, most spices have valuable properties that have a positive effect on our well-being. Cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, turmeric and ginger, for example, warm us from the inside. In addition to spices in porridge, there are also delicious, warm drinks for the winter that have a lot of power thanks to the combination of different spices. Our favorite: Golden Milk (turmeric latte) prepared with our organic oat drink, freshly grated turmeric, ginger and a pinch of pepper.

Oats against dark winter days

Oats help against the winter blues on dark winter days. This may sound strange at first, but in the end it is pure science. Sunlight is the trigger for our body to produce the happiness hormone serotonin. On a winter day, the sun often only appears briefly or not at all. This is where our porridge comes into play, because the amino acid tryptophan contained in oats ensures that the happiness hormone serotonin is produced.

Our recipe for winter blues: A long walk in the winter sun and a large portion of cinnamon apple porridge to warm up afterwards.
